 At Rockford Lutheran, Crusader athletics play a key role in molding faithful, well rounded students. Our superior athletic teams exhibit a deep sense of obligation, responsibility and dedication to each other. Our teammates (coaches, players, parents, athletic administrators, etc.) develop a strong sense of unity that is only provided within a nurturing family setting.
Many of the principles and skills that are learned in the classroom are challenged and developed through participation in athletics. The field of competition provides the opportunity for character growth and the development of our student-athletes. These programs provide a way for students to challenge themselves to do their best and strive for excellence in all aspects of their lives.
Rockford Lutheran High School is a member of the Big Northern Conference since 2003-04. This affiliation allows us to compete with schools such as Byron, Oregon, Stillman Valley, Winnebago, and Genoa-Kingston. Our Jr. High School competes in the Northern Conference against schools such as Christian Life, Harlem, Freeport Jr. High, Prairie Hill, Roscoe, Rockford Christian and Stephen Mack. Students in 5th and 6th grade compete as members of the Rock Valley Lutheran Athletic Conference.
We emphasize the development of sportsmanship, leadership and teamwork as fundamental components to the success of each of our student-athletes. Succe
ssful programs incorporate preparation and competition both during and out of season. Our facilities provide quality practice environments, as well as weight training and conditioning opportunities. |
