Joni Carlson, Head Varsity Coach

Joni Carlson, Head Girl's Coach - Coach Carlson enters her 6th season as the RLHS varsity head coach. Carlson led last year's Crusaders to a 21-10 overall record and an IHSA Regional title while advancing to the "Sweet Sixteen" in 3A Sectional play. Carlson was tabbed as the District 10 "Coach of the Year" by the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association. Joni served as an assistant in the Crusader girls' basketball program before assuming her head coaching duties in 2003. Coach Carlson is a 1995 graduate of Rockford Lutheran High. She played basketball at Rock Valley College 1995-1997 and was a two-year team captain. She received her bachelor's degree in elementary education from Illinois State University. Coach Carlson is married to Marc, also a RLHS graduate and they have two children.

Girls Basketball includes 5 levels: Grades 7, 8, 9, 10 and Varsity
