Andrukaitis Competes at State
Junior Michael Andrukaitis advanced as far as the semifinal round of the Illinois Class A wrestling tournament in the 171-pound weight class. He then lost in the consolation semifinals and did not place. His final season record was 37-8. His win total is the second highest single season win total in school record. He currently has 106 career wins which puts him in fifth place for career wins at Rockford Lutheran High. Congratulations Michael!
Rockford Wrestlers Named to All Conference Team
Congratulations to the following boys who were named to the Big Northern West Division All-Conference Wrestling team. They are: Senior Dan Allen, Senior Blake Henry, Juniors Michael Andrukaitis and Chris Gustafson-Nolan, and Sophomore Christian Wallace.
Rockford Lutheran Wrestler Advances to 2011 State Tournament
Junior Michael Andrukaitis advanced from the Class 1A Oregon High School Sectional to the IHSA State Wrestling tournament by finishing in third place at Oregon last weekend. He will take his 35-6 record to Champaign's Assembly Hall this Friday, February 18th. He will have a first round match Friday in the 171-pound weight class against Clayton Seward of Beardstown High School. A win will put him in the quarterfinal round where his opponent will be Levi Ulmer, a sectional champion from Vandalia High School. Michael also qualified for the state tournament as a freshman but did not place in the top four. Andrukaitis is also a captain and is currently 7thall-time in Crusader wrestling history with 104 career wins. Congrats Michael and go good luck in Champaign. We are proud of you!
Other wrestlers who advanced to sectionals but did not advance to the state tournament were sophomore Christian Wallace -112 pounds, junior Chris Gustafson-Nolan - 285 pounds, and seniors Blake Henry - 160 pounds and Dan Allen - 119 pounds.
The Rockford Lutheran Wrestling Team Qualified 6 team members to Sectionals in 2009-10: Congratulations to Dan Allen, Quinn Johnson, Jordan Semevolos, Martin Dobler, Michael Andrukaitis and Christian Wallace.
