Beginning with our youngest students, extracurricular activities offer a great opportunity to explore God-given talents and interests, try on a new skill and grow as a faithful, well-rounded person.

Our elementary school students enjoy a rich program of activities, clubs, social events and sports. Students are encouraged to participate in our afternoon, evening and weekend events. Our interscholastic sports teams and individual athletes can take part in healthy competition with other schools in cross country, soccer, volleyball, track and field, spirit squad and basketball.  Activities in the arts are also an important part of the Academy’s extracurricular program. Hand chimes are offered in first and second grade and orchestra and band lessons are introduced in the third grade. Rockford Lutheran Academy is one of three elementary schools in the U.S. that offers harp as an instrument in orchestra.  All Academy students have drama classes, and the 4th graders do a play every year.   Other activities include:

  • Chess Club
  • Art Club
  • K-Kids
  • News – Crusader Connection
  • Student Council
  • Newspaper

The Junior/Senior High School provides a wide range of opportunities for individualized and creative development – more than two thirds participate in activities such as:
