Booster Club Work Day… Join us Saturday, Aug 15th from 8am-11am for our annual clean up event at the JSHS Campus. We will be working on some outside beautification projects and some indoor clean up to make sure our campus is ready for the return of our students.

Students will participate in team-building activities, small group discussions, games, worship, and opportunities to connect with their classmates, upperclassmen leaders, and faculty and staff.

The Class of 2030 is having an all-day retreat on Saturday, Aug 15th, to help our students make connections and get a great start on the year. The event starts at 11am and goes until 9:30pm. If you are a parent of an incoming Freshman and did not already receive that retreat information, please reach out to Linzy Harezlak at lharezlak@rockfordlutheran.org

Senior Sunrise and Locker Run…. The Senior Class of 2027 is invited to be a part of this year’s Senior Sunrise and Locker Run on Monday, Aug 17th. Seniors are asked to arrive at school by 5:30am. As they arrive that morning, each will be given a number which will determine the “wave” that they can enter the school to choose their locker. Seniors need to make sure they have their school-issued locks ready! Look for some extra fun added by our Senior parent Boosters!

All parents are asked to attend Back to School Day at RLS on Aug 17th from 2:00- 6:00pm in the Varsity Gym. Parents are asked to come in during this time and work through numerous stations. The goal of the event is to: turn in medical forms, pay remaining balances, pick up a lock or gym uniform if needed, register their vehicle, buy spirit wear or used uniforms, sign up for clubs, learn about class trips, set up lockers, turn in health paperwork, join our Booster Club, pick up a student ID, set up Chromebooks on our domain, etc. This is something typically where parents and students attend together.  Expect it to take perhaps 30-60 minutes.

All “new to RLS Upper Campus” families are asked to join us on Aug 17th from 6:00-7:00pm for a New Family Orientation. The goal is to help new families get the information they need to navigate the school year. We will be introducing faculty, going over major policies, talking with returning parents, and hearing about the athletic opportunities.  We will be spending time especially with the attending Junior High Students for part of the evening to do some fun activities to get to know each other.

First Day Coffee… The Booster Club has arranged a way to toast the new school year. A coffee truck from Vintage Goose Cafe will be in the main parking lot from 6-8 AM on Wednesday, Aug 19th, selling Hot and Iced Coffee. Send off your kids in style!

Our first day of school is August 19th. We will begin with a 30-minute “Welcome Back” Assembly for ALL grades in the HS Gym starting at 8:10am. This will be followed by 20-minute classes with dismissal at 11:35am. It is important that every student bring their Chromebook on the first day of school as teachers will be starting to get students set up in Canvas.

Please plan on attending our Purple and White Night on Wednesday, Aug 26th, at the JSHS campus from 5:30-7:30pm. There will be fun games, food and spirit wear for sale, and more.  Please plan to join us.

Junior High Peak Night… RLS Junior High students are invited to join us on Saturday, Aug 29th from 5:00-8:00pm at Peak Sports Club in Loves Park. This is a Booster Club-sponsored swimming event exclusively for our Junior High students.
