Nurturing Community

“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” Ephesians 4:2-3

We build a Christ-centered community of belonging where every individual is known, valued, and supported through relationships of trust, compassion, and respect.

What does this mean?

As the body of Christ, we value relationships built on trust, compassion, and respect. We encourage collaboration among students, families, staff, and the wider community, creating a culture of belonging where every individual is known, valued, and supported.

“I have seen so many instances of harmony in our school. As a student council member, I see the cooperation of the different classes, each assuming their role, and older teaching younger. One of my favorite experiences at Rockford Lutheran School has been helping form the Diversity Ministry, a group formed to make sure all groups at Rockford Lutheran have a seat at the table. The events we hosted this year included: a welcome breakfast for our international students, celebrating Day of the Dead for Hispanic heritage month, Veteran’s Day Missing Man table ceremony to honor those who have fought and/or died to preserve our freedoms, a Christmas clothing drive for children of the Haskell neighborhood, and a Black History month that included many voices of music, history, and religion. We highlight our differences in order to see the importance of what makes us so like each other in the light of Christ.”
